Stamp It Group Summer Lovin’ Blog Hop: June 2020

Welcome to the June 2020 Stamp It team blog hop! My name is Jodi McRae, and I’ve been Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for about a year. I just started this blog in April and this is my first team blog hop!

I’m excited to show you some alternative projects using the super-cute Simply Citrus kit. This is a bright, cheery kit and I know you’re going to love it.

Simply Citrus alternatives

You can’t go wrong following the instructions in a Stampin’ Up! kit. There are plenty of options and embellishments in the kits to make beautiful coordinating cards.

Sometimes it’s fun to change up the sentiments and die cuts just a little bit to get a different look, or to cut the cards and envelopes apart to use as layers on solid card stock.

Tips

• The simplest alternative cards are made by following the instructions for layout while mixing up the sentiments, shapes and die cuts just a bit (Night of Navy and Just Jade, right).
• Cut the cards in half and use them to layer on to solid card stock, then shape the die cuts differently and use as contrasting layers (Calypso Coral, main).
• Cut open the lined envelopes to have even more options for patterned paper (Mango Melody, bottom right). Notice that you can stamp an outline on the lemons and leaves!
• Cut a card in half, then trim the bottom to create small square gift cards (bottom right). Keep your scraps to make ‘tails’ under your sentiments!
